T.J. AND NORA ELKINS

T.J. Elkins was a dedicated community leader whose legacy of service and support helped shape Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and the Saginaw area. He served on the EMS ISD Board of Education for 25 years, holding key leadership roles during his tenure, including Board President and Secretary. His longstanding commitment to public education reflected his deep care for students, families, and the future of the district.

Beyond his role in education, Mr. Elkins was a successful rancher and investor. Alongside his wife, Nora Lee Elkins—who served as Saginaw’s postmaster in the 1950s—the couple played a vital role in the growth of the local business community. Together, they founded several staple businesses including Saginaw Feed Mill, Saginaw Implement, and Elkins Hardware, with locations in both Saginaw and Burleson.

T.J. and Nora Lee were passionate advocates for young people, especially in agricultural education. Their support of local 4-H clubs and FFA chapters left a lasting mark on generations of students, helping instill values of leadership, responsibility, and community pride.
